Pair of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ students earn spot at national science fair in Ottawa

Frank Hurt Secondary’s Sreya Kurup and the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Academy of Innovative Learning’s Visisht Kadali recently won gold medals at the (SFRSF), securing their spot at the nationals. 

Kurup impressed judges with her project exploring the impact of natural antibiotics on bacteria, particularly the effectiveness of vitamin C and ginger on bacterial growth.

Kadali earned gold for his development of an app called WoundSense, which uses artificial intelligence to diagnose wounds and provide treatment advice to users.

In addition to the two gold medals, ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ students also came away with eight silver medals, six bronze and eight special awards with a total value of $850.

With their gold medal wins, Kurup and Kadali will join two other regional gold medalists heading to Ottawa for the Canada-Wide Science Fair, which will be held May 26-31 at Carleton University.
